Responsibilities The Rich Media Manager handles project management and department workflow and procedures by handling all media products per discipline (Mastering, MyLab, companion videos, Jazz, anything specifically non-print). Oversees all aspects of Rich Media licensing and permissioning from start-up through delivery of finished product. Analyzes Rich Media content for complicance with R&P Asset Sourcing Strategy and copyright licensing. Works with collaboratively with Production, Editorial and Authors in conjunction with outsourcing Vendors on accuracy, scheduling, compliance and quality. Builds and controls rich media sourcing and permission budgets or cost analysis. Evaluates and recommends external services if necessary (WFH, internal Pearson resources, etc). Tracks and ensures all PRISM rights granted data is captured correctly. Prepares purchase orders that include schedules, costs, final product criteria, as well as code, approve and track invoices thru PRISM. Extensive vendor management experience required. - Standardize media research, metadata, and permission letters and invoices, and other documentation for cost effective transaction processing - Recommend solutions to reduce rights-managed content and simplify sources to reduce permissions costs and maximize rights acquired - Monitor all titles for DNU sources and facilitate replacements with Production & Editorial - Consult with Production and Editorial to develop realistic budgets and schedules. Attend all meetings and calls as needed. - Assign approved IAS freelancer researchers or services to work with Editorial and Production to manage the research, downloads, trafficking, permissions when appropriate, and generate credits - Monitor all third party Rich Media, new and pick-up, to ensure Pearson Rights & Permissions policies are adhered to and projects are free of potential problems - Identify new outsourcers & freelancers to add to IAM pool - Applies all requisite managerial and technical skills within respective departments and department computer applications - Hires and manages supervisors and other staff - Leads strategy for Rich Media and asset management for specified discipline(s) - Evaluates issues & escalates to Director Image & Rich Media Management when necessary Impact of Errors - Errors impact department or assigned portion of project with potential for significant revenue impact as well as re-work and delays.
