    Construction Coordinator/Inspector Tracking Code 2T.12 Job Description Definition of Position The personnel assigned to this position are responsible for ensuring that all new construction is completed in accordance with the Plans, Specifications, Special Provisions, Standard Drawings, and Approved Material List.? Incumbents of this position will inspect work of Contractors, supervise Contract Inspectors, coordinate construction projects, perform Field Checks, prepare As:Builts, and other miscellaneous work as required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure all construction projects are properly inspected throughout the District, including water and Wastewater mains, fire services, hydrants, domestic services, meters, backflow preventors, manholes and underground plant work. Ensure that all construction is performed in accordance with Approved Plans, Specifications, Special Provisions, Standard Construction Specifications, and the material used is on the Approved Material List. Interfaces with local authority to ensure that the design and construction is in accordance with permit requirements. Field verifies quantities installed, reviews Contractors Invoices and recommends approval if invoice is correct and work is satisfactory. Prepares Additional Authorization requests as required and administers Contractor Change Order Work after proper approval. Coordinates shutdowns with Andrew AFB personnel. ?Implements TUSI Safety Standards and assures Contractor adherence with the same. Coordinates and manages Contract Inspectors to ensure that all construction is properly inspected. Prepares Daily Inspection Reports, Chlorination Reports and Contractor Performance Reports. Performs Field Checks on all preliminary plans to assure completeness of plan. Witnesses required tests and ensures all tests are performed in accordance with contract requirements Attends project progress meetings, other project related meetings, and prepares meeting minutes. Promote goodwill in all dealings with company affiliates, developers, contractors, local governmental agencies, and the public:at:large. Performs other duties as assigned. Works under general supervision. Required Skills Associates Degree in Construction Management or five years of progressively responsible experience in installation of water distribution and supply and/or wastewater collection. Knowledge of principles and methods of water quality testing, treatment and standards. Must have the ability to obtain Grade II Collection and Grade C Distribution Certification. Knowledge of Backflow Assembly Devices preferred. Must pass a Cross:Connection Control Program Course within one year of accepting position.
