Installation Instructions for j7Linx 1.5 Module with Joomla 1.5

Instructions are simplified, for helping those of who are non-technical

step 1.

Logon to your joomla administration.

Select Menu item : Extensions->Install/UnInstall

step 2:

In the Upload Package File Section

Click on Browse Button and select the file (mod_j7linx15.zip) you have downloaded from this site.

step 3:

Click on Upload File & Install Button

 

Make sure you see success message after installation.

Now you have completed installation

 

Next are configuration steps (parameters input how you want in your site)

 

step 4:

Select menu item : Extensions->Module Manager
From the list of Installed modules

find and select 'j7Linx15'

 

step 5:

Now you are in the edit screen of the module.

 

Here in this screen , you may modify as required for your website.

All field has default values.

 

Title (Default value is 'j7Linx')

Show Title : You may select yes or No

Position: Select Left or Right (of the screen where you wanted to position the module)

Module Order : This is the order in which module has to be displayed (if you have already many other modules already)

Access Level : Select Public(anyone)/Registered(only registered users) as required by you.

Published : Select this field as Yes.


Count  (MAXIMUM NUMBER OF LINKS TO DISPLAY):
10(default) it displays only first 10 links (based on the 'sort order' selection).You can change this if you have more.

Category ID (CATEGORY SELECTION (category id))

Specify the categry id. For more than one category, use comma to separate each category id. If blank selects all categories.

Slider Autoplay (AUTO PLAY SETTINGS): Set ON/OFF for silder of the module.

Time Delay (AUTO DURATION IN MILLISECONDS):
Time delay between each slides. This value in milliseconds. for 1 sec, input 1000.

Tween Delay (ANIMATION EFFECTS)
Tween Effects Setting.

Hide Controls (LEFT AND RIGHT ARROW CONTROL SETTINGS):
Left and right scroll controls visiblility setting. 

Data Refresh : The slider works based on a static XML file. If your website links is not updated very often, then select option 'STATIC', as this saves performance of your website. Remember : when you set this as STATIC and then you add some website links n the Joomla setup, you have to set the option to 'DYNAMIC' and refresh your website once and then you may change it back to 'STATIC'.
Alternatively, if select the option as 'DYNAMIC', you can ignore the above instructions.

COLOR SETTINGS (HEX DECIMAL VALUES) - Many websites are available to find hex value of any color. search google for hex values of colors
Header Background :  Background color of Website Name or Heading
Header Text : Text color of Website link name or heading
Description Text : Text color of website link description
Gradient Top Background : Gradient color setting Top
Gradient Bottom Background: Gradient color setting Bottom
Page Background : Background/border color of the slider.
step 6: Click on Save Toolbar button on top of the screen.

 

step 7: Now you are all set to go, check your website for j7Linx 1.5 module !!!!
